2011-03-20 18:27:05 Warnings when building a module
Carl Berglund (SWEDEN)
Hi, I get the warnings below when I build my module with the command:
>make -C /disk1/Projects/linux-2.6.x/ M=`pwd` modules
Building modules, stage 2.
MODPOST 2 modules
WARNING: "cfb_imageblit" [/disk1/Projects/fbdev_test/fbdev_test.ko] undefined!
WARNING: "cfb_copyarea" [/disk1/Projects/fbdev_test/fbdev_test.ko] undefined!
WARNING: "cfb_fillrect" [/disk1/Projects/fbdev_test/fbdev_test.ko] undefined!
I know the files where the functions are, but how do I get the module linker to know that it needs to build and link these files to?

this isnt a linker bug. if the symbols arent found, your kernel isnt configured properly.
if you look at the source, you need CONFIG_FB_CFB_IMAGEBLIT defined in order for those symbols to exist.
