I noticed that the busybox utilities that have soft links in /bin are divided into two groups. Some of the soft links point to busybox and others point to ../bin/busybox.

lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root            7 Dec  7 12:29 chown -> busybox

lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           14 Dec  7 12:29 chroot -> ../bin/busybox

lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root            7 Dec  7 12:29 clear -> busybox

Is there a rational or an explanation for this inconsistancy?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Dale

OK, /sbin is a softlink to /bin.

But why are some of the soft links to busybox to /bin/busybox and others are soft links to ../bin/busybox?
