2010-09-13 18:44:48     BINFMT_FLAT: stack size with arguments exceeds scratchpad memory

This problem is reported after building a recent trunk (2.6.34.6), customized for my board.  I'm guessing that any config setting is not okay, but ndon't know what, since configuration has not changed significantly compared to earlier builds.

The message arrives immediately after booting is finished and scripts are being executed.

Any suggestion what to investigate?

CONFIG_BINFMT_FLAT was set (however, together with BINFMT_ELF_FDPIC). I'd treat this not as a problematic choice, according to the help text.

I don't find an option to select L1 for FLAT stack.

When this BINFMT_FLAT option is unset, I get other problems:

root: /> root/cron1.sh

cron1.sh: applet not found

root: /> cat /root/cron1.sh

export TZ=`cat /etc/TZ`

/root/get_job.sh

Executing the two lines in cron1.sh separately goes OK - why the hell?

root: /> export TZ=`cat /etc/TZ`

root: /> /root/get_job.sh

ping: bad address 'exchange.vanbreda.nl'

no second host found

root: />

your scripts need proper shebangs as the first line

That's it.

Scripts used up to now will need modification, but the #!/bin/sh is standard. msh did not complain about it. Customer Linux update will go with script set update...
