Hi,

I am trying to evaluate the Linphone demo on Blackfin. I am aware that it runs on the BF-537 STAMP board and AD1836 daughter card. I don't have these boards with me. Instead, I have the BF-537 EZKitlite and AV Extender daughter card with me. From what I know, the BF-537 is pretty much identical to the BF-537 STAMP board. Also, the AV Extender card has the AD1836 on it. So in principle, I have the basic hardware needed to run the demo. Can you please confirm if it's indeed possible to run the demo on my setup without any changes in the Linphone source code?

Thanks and regards,

Get the hardware that we have validated.

You are on your own with anything else.

Hi Robin,

I am just trying to understand why the AD1836A on the AD1836A daughter card is supported while the same device on the AV Extender card isn't. The audio codec is the same on both cards. Also, I compared the hardware design of both these cards and saw that the connections between the BF-537 and the AD1836A is same in both cases. So how can the linux kernel tell any difference between the two boards?

Incidentally, I did try to run the linux kernel with AD1836A driver enabled on the BF-537 EZKitlite and AV Extender card. The kernel comes up fine, but shows a message "No audio card detected" while booting. If you can help me identify the difference between the daughter card and the extender card, I can try to work around this somehow.

Thanks and regards,

We don't support it because it doesn't work. If you have trouble (which you are) - and can't figure it out (which you can't - or you wouldn't be asking) - figure it out yourself. That is what I mean when I said  "You are on your own with anything else."
