In a project I want to take input from a camera, encode it to MPEG4, and at the time,

display it on LCD. I have test VLC-1.0 on PC platform.

It works OK. I compile it in uclinux-dist, the VLC's version is 0.86, I read the help,

but I don't how to use it on blackfin platform. Can you give some help? Thank you!

VLC doesnt function any differently on a Blackfin part.  it works exactly the same on all Linux systems.

you didnt say what Blackfin part you're trying to do this on.  if you only have one PPI port, then you probably dont have the bandwidth let alone pins to do this on the fly.  many people hook up a FPGA on the PPI to handle the input/output muxing and fake out the display at the same time -- send the data from the camera to both the LCD and the Blackfin simultaneously.

Thank you, Mike. I use bf527 otg-usb camera, PPI port for LCD. My problem is that I can easily use VLC UI to do the settings, but on blackfin platform, I don't how to use commands to complete the same work. The VLC help document  does not explain clearly. Can you give me some suggestion, or an examle?

we arent VLC experts either.  if you cant figure out what option is equivalent to the GUI config, and reading `vlc --help` doesnt help, then you should post the exact question to the vlc site:
