Message: 84953

I am testing the bfin_sport driver, i tried to open and write some data to sport0, there was a crash and the board was restarting.

I tried to debug bfin_sport using printk, i found that after the line

dev->regs->tcr1 |=TSPEN

its is crashing in sport_write() function.

i am building the kernel with uClinux-dist2008R1.5 and am using ADSP BF527 EZ-KIT LITE 1.4

What might be the problem.

I'm having the same problem here, but using the board ADSP-BF526 EZ-BOARD. The problem is the same using 2009R1-RC6, 2009R1.1-RC4 and the trunk version. The execution just stops after the 'dev->regs->tcr1 |=TSPEN' on the sport_write function on bfin_sport driver, with no dump messages. If I put a printk() after this line, this printk is executed, but if I put two printk() only the first one is executed. This happens when configuring sport0 on both Port F and Port G.

First the bfin_sport conflicted with bfin_mac, but I resolved it using this tip:   blackfin.uclinux.org/gf/project/uclinux-dist/forum/?_forum_action=ForumMessageBrowse&thread_id=33196&action=ForumBrowse

Now it just halts completely when I execute sport_test or echo something to /dev/sport0 and needs a hard reset. Any ideas? I'm attaching my .config file.

Thanks for your time.

The bfin_sport driver is designed for bf533 and bf537. It has never been tested on bf526. Please report a bug in our tracker.
