2009-09-29 19:51:48     what are the preferred Bluetooth USB devices.

After looking at the beginning of the Linux-2.6.17/drivers/bluetooth/hci_usb.c file, I noticed there are some devices included in the bluetooth_ids struct and and some in a blacklist_ids struct. Is there a more comprehensive list of Bluetooth USB devices?

Thanks,

linux-2.6.17 is ancient.  no idea where you got that from.

if you're looking for devices that the kernel handles, then that is probably the authoritative file.  what websites have to say really dont matter as they easily fall out of date and dont relate to the version of linux you're actually running.

Thanks for your timely response Mike.

Maybe a better question to ask is "What are the characteristics of a Bluetooth devices that get it put into the blacklist_ids list?" Rather than relying on some approved list of devices that work. It would be helpful if I understood what it is about a Bluetooth device caused it to be black-listed. Is it the chip set or the firmware on the device?

Thanks,

we dont really maintain said driver, so other than the obvious answer, i dont know.

you could post your query to the bluetooth sites:

linux-bluetooth@vger.kernel.org
