I have a BF537-stamp board, v1.3, 2005 which has bootloader and uClinux preloaded from ADI (or Avnet). When I start the uClinux using kermit, it goes through all the way to root prompt as below. But I can not type from the keyboard of my PC which is connected to the board with a serial cable. Is there any way to fix it in a easy way. I am a beginner in embedded systems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it could be as simple as a bad cable, or switch setting.

Try:

https://docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=serial_cable

and then the UART enable section of:

https://docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=hw:boards:bf537-stamp

Robin,

It turned out to be Pin2 of Switch4 which had caused the problem. It was apparently set to the right position, but the contact was not good. I am extremely happy that I can start something with the stamp board.

Thanks a lot for providing me the clue.
