Hello,

I just bought a brand new shiny BF518F EZ-KIT.  The wiki has some preliminary documentation.  I am curious what other folks know about running uClinux on this board.  Specifically, does anybody know the state of using the audio codec under uClinux?

When I opened the box, I found a single-page release note pointing me at at the ADI web site for updated examples and documentation.  The updated documentation claims that the codec has been upgraded from the SSM2602 using SPI to the SSM2603 using TWI.  Does anybody know if the uClinux drivers reflect the '2602/SPI or the 2603/TWI (or perhaps are non-existant for this board)?

I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask the questions first, before I wrap myself in too many knots...

Speaking of wrapping myself in too many knots... (and perhaps I should have started a new thread for this)... does anybody have any experience running the uClinux toolchain and build environment on a Mac?  I know I could (first make some room on my hard disk) run a Linux in a VMWare box.  But I would like to run it natively.  At the worst case, I could run a colinux box inside my WIndows VMWare box... that almost appeals to my sense of the ridiculous.

If nobody has done it, I will probably blaze the trail, since a Macbook is what I'm using for my day-to-day work nowadays.

OS-X should work out of the box on trunk.

Message: 77151    Thanks Robin,

I was already aware of that web page. It claims to be preliminary

documentation and makes no mention of support for the audio codec

(either the older SSM2602/SPI design or the newer SSM2603/TWI design).

So I figured I would ask the question first, before traveling down

the path of bringing up the uClinux environment on my Mac only to

learn that the one thing I needed, namely support for audio, was not

there yet for that board.

Learning that the uClinux environment should work out of the box on

trunk eases my mind considerably in the "well, I'll just try it and

see" department.

Patrick:

I updated the page - thanks for the poke.

I would stick with the 2009 Branches, not trunk.
