Hi,

I have a USB WiFi which works on linux. Now I would want to check it in uClinux. Since I am looking at purchasing a test platform in uClinux, Please suggest which platform is best suited for this with the support for USB core driver built in the uClinux distribution released.

TIA

Robin,

any of the Blackfin is fine.

Our main aim is to ensure that from a functionality perspective the USB interface (with WLAN) is verified and have a comparison with standard linux.

As mentioned in my earlier mail, my USB device works on linux with no issues. I would like to know if I can get any such SoC + a uImage which already has USB enabled (or we can enable it with less difficulty and no knowledge of USB).

TIA.

With 533/532/531/537/561 - you will need to use an external USB controller. There are many (3) that we have tested, and know work.

https://docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=hw:cards#usb

The 54x and 52x have an on-board USB controller - but it has some issues with it (look at the anomaly sheets), and while many people use it without problems, other people can't make it work with their USB device.

Hi Robin,

Thanks for the information.

Actually we have USB-LAN Extension card (Net2272), but we are not able to use it for the WLAN testing as it is only USB client device. We will be requiring USB host support. Out of the other 2 only one we are able to find the buy link! (only for ADDS_USB_EZEXT1 - SL811HS/ISP1362 USB Add-on Card). We are not able to find the purchase link for Stamp Board USB ISP176x Extender / Add-on Card , will it be possible to provide the purchase link for this also.

Thanks in advance
