Dear every one!

In our project,we need to use CF card to store data and root file system in it .

As far as I know ,file system such as jffs2 is used in raw flash.

How to realize the root file system  in CF card ?And what type file system to use EXT3 or something else?

thank you!

CF IDE cards present a block device like any other, so use any normal block filesystem on it.  typically that is EXT3, but that is certainly not required.

Same as you would on any other Linux system - mkfs.ext2

I'm not sure I follow - ext2 file systems are written to block devices (hard drive, cd-rom, USB, MMC, SDIO, etc). - they are not "files".

As for U-Boot support - the latest (trunk) version supports cramfs  ext2  fat  fdos  jffs2  Makefile  reiserfs  ubifs  yaffs2

Mike :

I see a doc

  docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=using_cf_flash_card_disk_with_u-boot_and_linux_kernel

bf537> tftpboot 0x1000000 uImage

Using MAC Address 00:E0:22:FE:42:84

TFTP from server 192.168.0.2; our IP address is 192.168.0.15

Filename 'uImage'.

Load address: 0x1000000

bf537> ide write 0x1000000 0x3F 0x1000

I found that this is right answer.
