hi,i met some problem in vfat filesystem

the version is uclinux-dist-trunk-svn-7715

i format mtd3 to a vfat filesystem:

root:/> flash_eraseall /dev/mtd3

Erasing 128 Kibyte @ 3a00000 -- 100 % complete.

root:/> mkfs.vfat /dev/mtdblock3

mkfs.vfat 2.11 (12 Mar 2005)

unable to get drive geometry, using default 255/63root:/>

root:/> mount -t vfat /dev/mtdblock3 mnt

Then,i download some file to the flash, and do some "cp" "mkdir" "rm"

after reading/writing the mtd3 several times, there will print some info:

FAT: Filesystem panic (dev mtdblock3)

fat_free_clusters: deleting FAT entry beyond EOF

File system has been set read-only

is there any bug still in the vfat filesystem?Or the way i use the vfat filesystem is wrong?

Nicole,

Maybe you can submit a bug, or listing detail steps to reproduce.

BTW, you may think of using loop device, instead of using FAT directly on nand/nor. The performance is not good. see:   docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=gadget_file-backed_storage#use_nand_flash_on_bf548-ezkit_as_usb_mass_storage.
