2009-04-13 15:08:46     SPI slave support in uClinux

We plan to use SPI in slave mode with BF531/2/3. That is, the Blackfin is programmed as a SPI slave, and the external microcontroller is writing data into the Blackfin using SPISS (==PF0) as chip select.

Question: is SPI slave supported under uClinux? Are there code examples available?

Thank you -- Wojtek

there is no support in Linux on any device for running it as a slave.  you'll have to write a custom driver for now.

Mike, thanks a lot. -- Wojtek

PS: Since we are using BlackStamp, we can probably use the on-board CPLD to implement the SPI slave and read the serial--> parallel conversion in memory space. It is our luck that we have the on-board CPLD.
