Hi,

I am working with BF527 Ezkit board rev 0.2 and uClinux distribution 2008R1SVN.

I have enabled the menuconfig options for the SSM2602 as a module, as described in the document

docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=linux-kernel:drivers:ssm2602

I have done the hardware settings accordingly as expalined in the document.

docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=hw:boards:bf527-ezkit

I am unable to play the tone using the tone command ( Please refer to the attached text file)

when i issue the tone command i am getting the following error.

oot:/> tone

ERROR: failed to open DAC device /dev/dsp

Please help to solve the problem.

Best Regards, Sreedhar

We don't currently have any 0.2 EZkits - so you got things before us - as soon as we get some - we will test it, and let you know.

However - I don't believe that 0.2 will be supported on 2008R1.5 - only trunk and the upcoming 2009R1 release. If it doesn't work on the old release - there isn't much we will do.

This problem is caused either by incorrect hardware configuratins or by wrong I2C device address.

Hi,

We tried with uClinux distribution 2008R1.5 and we builded the codec into the kernel, it worked properly.

We faced the above problem when we used the 2008R1 SVN distribution.

Thanks all for the help.

Best Regards, Sreedhar.
