After "make all", there is no error.

And I find this message in my "make all" messages:

" bfin-uclinux-strip: busybox_unstripped: File format not recognized

"

My board is ported from BF537-STAMP and my CPU is BF536. I'm using the latest release version: 2008R1.5RC3.

I only found "vmImage" and "vmlinux" in "images/" directory.

that message you post is a warning, not an error.  it has no bearing at all on rootfs generation.

root filesystem images are generated automatically based on the filesystems that are enabled.  if you didnt enable jffs support in your kernel, the build system wont build a rootfs for you.

Thanks, Mike!

Yes, of course, I enabled my jffs2 in my kernel:

                   <M> Journalling Flash File System v2 (JFFS2) support                                        | |

  | |                      (0)   JFFS2 debugging verbosity (0 = quiet, 2 = noisy)

building a module will not let you use it as a rootfs.  how are you going to load the module before mounting the rootfs if the module is on the rootfs ?

I also found this message:

"

if [ -x /home/xxx/uClinux-dist-2008R1.5-RC3/user/mtd-utils/build/mkfs.jffs2 ] && [ -n "" -o -n "m" ]; then \

    /home/xxx/uClinux-dist-2008R1.5-RC3/user/mtd-utils/build/mkfs.jffs2 -l -d /home/xxx/uClinux-dist-2008R1.5-RC3/romfs -D device_table-min.txt -o /home/xxx/uClinux-dist-2008R1.5-RC3/images/rootfs.jffs2; \

fi

"

I found there is NO mkfs.jffs2 in mtd-utils/build directory.

Yes, thanks a lot!

I could not make it from "M" to "*"....

I have checked the Kconfig just now and resolved this problem. Now, I got rootfs.jffs2.

Thans again, Mike!
