hi.

i've tried to load the kernel with tftp ,but it doesn't work.

i set the server as my pc host address .

but it always shows as below:

using blackfin EMAC device

TFTP from server 192.168.1.42; our IP address is 192.168.1.9

Fils name "uImage"

load address 0x1000000

loading T T T T T T T T T T T T

retry count exceeded ; starting again

using blackfin EMAC device

TFTP from server 192.168.1.42; our IP address is 192.168.1.9

Fils name "uImage"

load address 0x1000000

loading T T T T T T T T T T T T

i've also tried to ping the ip 192.168.1.9 or 192.168.1.42

it always says that the ip is not alive

i'm wondering what  the problem is.

i only load the u-boot . loading through uart works fine.

is there anything missing ?

thanks

Please check everything that make your network not usable - cable, switch..etc.

The first thing to do is verify ping works. If that does not -- tftp will not either.

What OS is your server? Are you using a cross over cable, or a switch/repeater?

i've not any OS on the board now .

i can load the kernel through the serial ,but it's a little slow ..

i'm trying to load the linux kernel to the board using tftp .

there's only u-boot in the flash.

the cable i'm using is that the one we use it to connect the board to the host PC through the ETHERNET port .

the cable's worked fine on other board with linux OS . it's diffent with the one using on PC to connect to the INTERNET .

IS IT THE RIGHT ONE?

(the board's connected straightly to the host PC through this cable .)

presumably you mean it's a cross-over cable which is what you want for connecting a board directly to the PC

however, you still need to validate the network settings are correct like Robin said, and that your server is properly configured.  the wiki has pages that cover these things.

i've checked the switch on board

SW1:ON ON OFF ON

SW9:OFF OFF OFF ON

is it the right setting ?

or is there any switch or jumpers to be checked?

jacqueline liu,

Here the switch we mean network switch (路由器,交换机)。请仔细检查一下网络,最起码ping应该先work。
