Hy,

I want to build a custom board which looks like the BF537Stamp board, but i need more memory than the 4MB of flash (I want to work with QT4 and this library take a lot of memory). i want to have 16MB.

I am afraid to add a SPI memory because of the kernell will take too many time to start

could you tell me if the good way, would be to add a 16MB parallel flash with the 19 pins of the BF537 address bus and add 4 with GPIO Pin?

there is some drivers in this way? that's possible to have a boot with this configuration?

Or there is an other way

Thanks

there is a driver in trunk kernel already to support this (gpio-addr-flash).  you're on your own to write a driver for u-boot though.

Instead of NOR flash you can also use a small SPI Flash (128-256 kbytes) for booting u-boot.

Then use a NAND flash connected to Blackfin’s Async EBIU.

Damien,

Please look at any of our boards (http://blog.astfin.org  http://forum.astfin.org/viewforum.php?f=27 ) to see implementation of Michael's suggestion.

Cheers,

Mark
