I want to boot the kernel from NAND flash.

I set the ECC_NONE mode in both uboot-1.16-2008R1.5 and uclinux-dist-2008R1.5-RC3. Then I copy the vmImage and rootfs.jffs2 to corresponding sectors into NAND flash. But when I reboot the board it prints an ECC check sum error.

now I can boot the kernel from NAND by the following way. I boot the kernel in SDRAM at first. After that I copy the rootfs.jffs2 into SDRAM from the server PC by the tftp command and then copy it into NAND flash. at last I reset the board into uboot and copy the vmImage into NAND flash.

the problem is that i want to cut the ethernet module from my board for a smaller cost. so how can i change the ECC mode in both uboot and linux kernel for avoid the ECC check sum error?

what hardware exactly are you using ?  why are you attempting to turn off ECC support in the first place ?

I use BF527 on my custom board.

I turn off ECC Beacuse there is an ECC error when booting the kernel both in ECC_SOFTWARE and ECC_HARDWARE mode.

then you should be figuring out why you're getting an ECC error instead of just blindly disabling things.  what NAND driver are you using and exactly how are you reading/writing files to flash ?
