Hi,

I have configured 527 for SSM2602 audio codec according to the document http://docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=ssm2602_setup#debugging. Not as module but built into the kernel. The I2c also built into the kernel.

While kernel bootup, I got the following error.

Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.12rc1 (Thu Jun 22 13:55:50 2006 UTC).

  ASoC version 0.13.1

  dma rx:3 tx:4, err irq:15, regs:ffc00800

ssm2602 Audio Codec 0.1<6>ALSA device list:

  No soundcards found.

There is no dsp file in /dev directory so that tone test is failing.

Please look at the kenel bootup logs attached. Even I tried by compiling as a module as per the document

but still I got the same error.

Please give me a solution for this.

Thanks,

Maha

Have you checked hardware configuration for the codec?

see:http://docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=hw:boards:bf527-ezkit

Be sure that SW8,SW17,SW20 and SW19 have been configured correctly.

Hi,

I have configured the following switch settings related with sound(SPI).

     SW8   - X X 1 0

     SW19 - 0 1 0 1

     SW20 - 1 1 1 1

     SW17 - 1 1 1 1

and I have used the kernel available in the site. still it's saying "no soundcards found" on the kernel bootup.

Please tell me a solution for this because I'm spending many days for this.

Thanks,

Maha

SW8 should be setted to x x 0 1,So that codec is in TWI/I2C mode.
