I'm reading this one from an old post (2006-04-05)
"As for what other people have been asking for - is a user space access to sport (/dev/sport0 , /dev/sport1), where they could have some sort of setup structure (to configure things), and then ioctl for dma_setup (read_buf, write_buf, num_samples); and a dma_go. Some people have asked for double buffers, so that they don't have to worry about loosing data.
The desire is for non-blocking functions (call the function, like dma_start(), and it starts, and then signals the app via the poll() interface when it is done, or a buffer is full)."
Is there some news about the matter?
Somebody has develop a double buffers?

the char sport driver has not been extended in a very long time. the only ioctl that exists atm is for configuring things.
