Hello again,

I have a BF548 ezkit and a logitech lifecam 9000. I am using the latest trunk kernel/uboot/filesystem. I am using the defconfig except for FDPIC and I have followed the instructions to install the camera/driver from the site exactly (no more, no less). However after I modprobe uvcvideo the device does not get created. I do not have a /dev/video0 and I am therefore getting this error:

root:/> modprobe uvcvideo

(I typed the following 6 lines from the LCD screen)

uvcvideo : found uvc 1.00 device <unnamed> (046d:0990)

uvcvideo : failed to querry (135) uvc control 1 (unit 0) :0(exp.26)

uvcvideo : failed to querry (129)...

uvcvideo: failed to initialize the device (-5)

usbcore: registered new interface driver uvcvideo

usb video class driver (svnr7263)

root:/> luvcview

luvcview 0.2.4

SDL information:

  Video driver: fbcon

Hardware surfaces are available (382k video memory)

Device information:

  Device path:  /dev/video0

ERROR opening V4L interface: No such file or directory

Am I missing a step? Do I have to create this manually?

As the wiki shows:http://docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=linux-kernel:drivers:usb_video_device_class , I think only "Logitech QuickCam PRO 9000" usb camera was tested..

That is the camera I have. I mistyped when I referred to it as a lifecam. That is microsoft's name for their products. Sorry, but the question still remains.

Any thoughts?

I solved my own issue. In order to get the camera working you MUST enable the USB Audio/MIDI driver. The wiki says this, but I foolishly interpreted it as something that only needed to be done if you wonted to use the mic.
