On execution of  'ps' command in the BF527 target board  ( distribution : uClinux-dist-2008R1-RC8 ) we are seeing a task named  "bfin-spi.0" in the list.

 

Can anyone please let me know what is the functionality of this task.

Is it possible to make read, write calls to SPI drivers without  the existence of this  thread ?  Also request you to please let me the C file where this Kernel thread is created.

no, you cannot turn the thread off.  it's a kernel thread, so you can find it in the kernel source tree.
