I Enabled this kernel option in Mapping drvers for chip access.

 

In what way can I tell the kernel which gpio's to use?

it's a standard platform driver which means you need to declare standard platform resources.  consult a board that uses the driver.

I already found it myself. In my case it was in:

 

linux-2.6.x/arch/blackfin/mach-bf537/boards/cm_bf537.c
