Hi

This may be more of a hardware question but perhaps someone here can answer.

I would like to use the BF527 USB controller as only a Host, never a Device. I need to be able to talk to two USB devices so was proposing to use a USB hub to provide this capability.

On page 26-32 of BF52xPeriphHWR03.pdf it says -

"When the HOST_MODE bit is set to 1, the USB controller operates as a host

for point-to-point communications with another USB device. This second

device may be either a high-speed, full-speed, or low-speed USB function,

but it may not be a hub."

Why can't it be a hub? Has anyone tried connecting it to a hub and if so does it work?

Thanks

Mike

the BF52x and BF54x do not work with hubs.  it is a hardware limitation and cannot be worked around.
