Hi,

On giving "free" command, there is a column for "buffers". what is the purpose of it? Will it get freed up automatically?

Thanks in Advance

the kernel maintains internal caches.  some are static caches, others will get freed as needed.

Hi,

once the uImage is loaded, when we give "free" command, it shows different free memory available value every time.(i.e. after switching off and swiching on ) the board. Why is this behaviour?

i really cannot diagnosis your setup and tell you why your code is doing this

if i take the default uImage for a board and boot it repeatedly, the free output is pretty much stable when run the first time
