Message: 54964    On our BF536 custom board, we're running audio to the Phone input on the AD1981.

For the life of me, I can't seem to get ALSA to accept this as the capture source.

Using amixer, I set the Phone Capture Volume to 31, the Phone Capture Switch to on, but I don't have the ability to set the Capture Source to phone. I also can't seem to find a -D value to pass to arecord to grab audio from the Phone input.

Any ideas?

Message: 55321    Cameron, did you find a solution to this? I'm trying to do similar things, trying to control the capture source, which the ad1981 permits with a great degree of flexibility, but I'm having trouble controlling it via the alsa driver.  I'm wondering if it wouldn't be easier to just set the ad1981 registers directly, but I'm not able to do that at the moment either. At least, I haven't worked it out yet.

Thanks,

Frank.

I'd totally forgotten about this. Sorry, Frank.

I never did find a solution. We just switched the input source from Phone to Aux and I got it working just fine. Electrically, the Phone, Aux, and Line inputs are all the same -- at least that's how I read the datasheet.
