Message: 55023    I have a few doubts about uClinux:

1>Say I have 3 partitions in Flash as follows:

bootloader

kernel

MAC

The kernel is built without any ext2 or jffs2 support.

If bootargs says root=/dev/mtdblock3, I still have a rootfs(because the prompt shows). Which rootfs is this?

2> In General setup(make menuconfig), what do the following options mean:

[*] Initial RAM filesystem and RAM disk (initramfs/initrd) support

Doee the above help in mounting a rootfs up and running.

Go read:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Initrd

Message: 55063    initramfs has no bearing on root= at all.  if you're booting out of jffs2, you can just disable that option.
