The kernel is built without any ext2 or jffs2 support.
If bootargs says root=/dev/mtdblock3, I still have a rootfs(because the prompt shows). Which rootfs is this?
2> In General setup(make menuconfig), what do the following options mean:
[*] Initial RAM filesystem and RAM disk (initramfs/initrd) support
Doee the above help in mounting a rootfs up and running.

Message: 55063 initramfs has no bearing on root= at all. if you're booting out of jffs2, you can just disable that option.
