Message: 47505

Hello,

The latest update of the xenomai patch is 7 months old.  It's clear that a lot of files that are touched by this patch have changed a lot in those 7 months.

I found a more recent patch : adeos-ipipe-2.6.23-bf5xx-1.7-00.patch (r3090 | rpm | 2007-10-17 18:57:24 +0200 (Wed, 17 Oct 2007) | 1 line Upgrade Adeos/blackfin support)

URL: http://svn.gna.org/svn/xenomai/trunk/ksrc/arch/blackfin/patches

Unfortunately I cannot find the SVN version on which this patch was applied.  Who know's which version I should check out to apply this patch?

When can we expect an updated patch on blackfin.uclinux.org?

Best regards,

Filip

This "adeos-ipipe-2.6.23-bf5xx-1.7-00.patch" confusing me too. The SVN trunk blackfin uclinux kernel is still 2.6.22. You may try to apply the patch to SVN checkout around 2007-10-17. But I will spend some time to update the patch to current SVN.

Hello Yi,

Thank you for your answer and sorry for my late reply (I was not in the office for 1 1/2 day).

I got some info from Philippe Gerum about the 2.6.23 patch : <<This patch is against v2.6.23 vanilla. GIT commit bbf25010f1a6b761914430f5fca081ec8c7accd1.>>

Can you tell me (or where I can find a some info about it) how such an updated patch for Blackfin uClinux is made, or otherwise stated "where can I find the SVN repositories that are merged to create the patch-file that can be found in uclinux-dist/bfin_patch/adeos_patch"?

Many thanks in advance,

Filip

The blackfin uclinux kernel development is based on this svn: see here: https://blackfin.uclinux.org/gf/project/linux-kernel/scmsvn

We sync the blackfin arch code (and related common code) with the vanilla linux-kernel git tree frequently (a week or so).  When we do a release, we sync the whole linux-kernel in our svn with vanilla tree (including all common code and other arch), e.g, from 2.6.22 to 2.6.23. So there is a little difference between our SVN trunk and the upstream linux git tree.

It is suggested to do blackfin uclinux development based on our svn since we will do the synchronize with upstream.

Adeos is an out-of-tree kernel patch. It affects both blackfin arch and common code. The maintainer can choose to use either upstream vanilla tree or ours. But I will ask if he could make patch based on our SVN.

Also since there is a time difference between Xenomai release and the blackfin uclinux release,  I keep a patch in uclinux-dist/bfin_patch/adeos_patch, which will be updated when people asking for an adeos patch for latest SVN trunk or latest release. But the patch from Xenomai project should be the main source.

So if you want to use adeos/xenomain, you can use "adeos-ipipe-bf53x-R07R1RC3-1.6-02.patch"  and "uclinux-dist-2007r1-rc3" release.

I got the answer from Philippe that he "<tt>don't track the Blackfin SVN</tt>

<tt>repo anymore since 2.6.23, but rather the mainline tree</tt> ". So I think we will need to update the patch to the SVN trunk. I need to finish things at hand before working on this (a week or so). I'd suggest to use 07r1 patch if you cannot wait.

I just tested, this patch does not work with the 2007RC3.1 rc.

I will test with 2008 release.
