2008-01-21 18:57:34     Ethernet problem: Network set to half duplex

andy (UNITED STATES)

Message: 49901    Am trying to connect BF537 and lantronix Wiport module through ethernet. The BF537 is connected to MICREL KSZ8721BLI ethernet controller.

The lantronix module is set 100Mbit/Full Duplex type of ethernet.

When i boot uClinux on BF537 it gives me:

bfin_mac:Network set to half duplex

My guess is that, this is happening because of a mismatch in settings of the type of ethernet between BF537 and Wiport.

Initially I had set Wiport to be on autonegotiation but that gave the same result.

Am not sure how to correct this problem.

Is uClinux going for autonegotiation by default? Is there any way I can configure the type of ethernet on uClinux?

Message: 49902    what kernel version are you using ?  by default, the Blackfin MAC enables autonegotion.

Message: 49980    The version is as follows:

Linux release 2.6.16.27-2006R2 Build #16

Is there any way i can configure the type of ethernet manually instead of the default autonegotiation?

Message: 49984    currently you cannot force duplex (half/full) and similar details when using the Blackfin on-chip MAC ... there is a tracker item open to get this resolved
