for statistical profiling, you can only use the ICE which VDSP can recognize - I am using ADDS-HPUSB-ICE.

You can not run mplayer wtih VDSP. You can not debug with VDSP.

All we use the ICE for is grabbing PC samples - as documented in the wiki.

If something is not clear in the wiki - please let me know.

Message: 49771     Hi Robin,

I would like to do the statistical profiling of uClinux application running on target board(BF561 based),so i wanted to know is it possible to do using USB ICE and VDSP.

May i know how did you do the statistical profiling of ffmpeg(the one you sent me) because i would like to do the same.

In the wiki they said to profile the linux applications we need to map the program symbols i didn't understand, should i follow the same procedure for uclinux application.

Message: 49776    Robin means you cannot compile/run mplayer from inside VDSP, nor can you debug the binary using VDSP ... you can however use the ICE/JTAG functionality to query the state of the registers in the processor, and that is it

the documentation given *only* applies to doing statistical profiling of Linux applications
