FAQ: Why can't I add Startup Code/LDF or Pin Multiplexing Add-Ins to my Loader project in CCES 1.0.0/1.0.1?

I have a project in which the Artifact Type is set to "Loader File" under Project: Properties: C/C++ Build: Settings: Build Artifact, and I want to add the Startup Code/LDF or Pin Multiplexing Add-Ins but they are not listed. Why not?





Add-Ins are associated with specific Artifact Type, and currently the Loader Artifact is considered - by the tools - to be distinct from the Executable type required for the both the Pin Multiplexing and Startup Code/LDF Add-Ins.


You can add these Add-Ins by switching the Artifact Type to Executable File, adding the Add-Ins through the SVC file, then switching the Artifact Type back to Loader File. (Note that at this point you may receive a warning, as described here, this warning can be ignored).
