Q.

How do I select a reference for the AD536x and AD537x DACs?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A.

A reference value from +2V to +5V can be used with the AD536x and AD537x. Using the default register values the output span will be four times the reference value, e.g. +12V when using a +3V reference.

The AD536x is factory calibrated using a 5V reference and has a default output range of -10V to +10V.

The AD537x is factory calibrated using a 3V reference and has a default output range of -4V to +8V.
