Q.

What is the ADL5240_ADL5243 DSA control interface voltage thresholds and how does SPI interface work at byte(8 bits) operation?

A.

The DSA section at the ADL5240 and ADL5243 runs on 5V Power Supply. However it could interface to FPGA or Processor operating at the 3.0 to 3.3V Power Supply. The recommended interface levels through SPI in either serial or parallel mode are a min voltage of 2.5V for logic high and a max voltage of 0.8V for logic low.

 

And byte(8 bits) operation is common at SPI interface. So when running at byte operation, the SPI registers at ADL5240_ADL5243 will drop the first two bits and export the last 6 bits.
