ADG715 Operation with VDD=VSS=0V

I have connected the ADG715 to another part. Both share a common ground, but
only the other part is connected to +5V. Will the ADG715 function correctly if
it is only connected to ground.


When we look into the absolute maximum ratings (page 7 of datasheet (Rev. B
12/02 )) for Vss=Vdd=0V: analog and digital input signals in the range of
+-0.3V would not destroy the part.  If these levels are exceeded we do not
guarantee the functionality of the part anymore, and it should be replaced.
The following information is taken also from the ADG715 datasheet page 7:
Stresses above those listed under Absolute Maximum Ratings may cause permanent
damage to the device. This is a stress rating only; functional operation of the
device at these or any other conditions above those listed in the operational
sections of this specification is not implied. Exposure to absolute maximum
rating conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability. Only one
absolute maximum rating may be applied at any one time.
