QWe are using the ADE7953 and using very similar to your reference design, with
a shunt and the only difference is that we have 4-layer layout and the power
supply comes from the secondary winding of a transformer.
AOur reference design layout was done on two layers instead of your 4 layers.
In the data sheet, we say to not connect the epad to AGND or DGND. This was
based on our experience with the ADE7878. Now, we changed our position. We
recommend connecting the epad to AGND and DGND by making the layout similar to
the ADE7878 rev F data sheet, page 73. Basically, the ground lines (both AGND
and DGND) merge into the epad. They should make one for ADE7953 similar to this
Figure 91 of the ADE7878 datasheet rev F is attached indicating pin1 and pin10
for your reference also.
I recommend to place first the capacitors on the power supply VDD, VINTA, VINTD
and REF. Then place the clock circuit and RESET lines. Then place
