The following questions, pertaining to ADC data capture and control using data capture platforms provided by Analog Devices, are frequently asked by customers that are evaluating high-speed ADC products.  Except where identified, these questions and answers apply to all high-speed ADC data capture platforms.  These include, but aren't limited to:

  • HSC-ADC-EVALBZ
  • HSC-ADC-EVALCZ
  • HSC-ADC-EVALDZ
  • HSC-ADC-EVALEZ
  • EVAL-ADS7-V1
  • EVAL-ADS7-V2

1. Can I stream, or capture, continuous samples from the ADC?

Data capture sample size is limited to the size of the memory used on the data capture board.  Data is captured into the memory, then read back to the PC in a first-in, first-out (FIFO) mode.  We do not support continuous streaming of data.
