I was having trouble using gdbproxy and urjtag with the latest JTAG Tools release with the BF518, but then I read a post stating that support for the BF518 wasn't added until after the last official release.  I went to look for the nightly snap shot, but all I see is the base toolchain and the uclib toolchain.  The release had a JTAG tools file to download, but no such file exists in the nightly snapshot section.

I would just build the toolchain myself, but I've never done it before, and I'm running into issues getting it to compile.  Are the JTAG Tools just somewhere I haven't been looking?  Thanks.

Doug

the jtag tools are integrated with each snap.  pick the tuple you want.

Turns out I was missing the ELF snapshot!

However, now when I run the nightly snapshot (downloaded today), I get the following error when loading the cable:

jtag> cable gnICE

Couldn't connect to suitable USB device.

Error: /usr/local/src/blackfin/git/toolchain/urjtag/src/tap/usbconn/libftdi.c:372 usbconn_ftdi_common_open() ftdi/ftd2xx error: ftdi_usb_open_desc() failed: device not found

If I switch back to the latest release, the same command works fine.  But then I get stuck during "detect" because it is unable to handle the BF518 revisions.

Have you seen this error before?

Doug

are you sure you're using a gnICE and not a gnICE+ ?  try using 'cable probe' instead.
