Hello,

I have a number of gnICE boards and am having trouble getting a reasonable speed out of them using gdbproxy. Under both Windows and Mac OS X they are barely getting more than 2000 bits/second when uploading code or debugging.

This is significantly slower than the RS232 bootloader and gdb-stub I was using before.

What kinds of speeds should I expect? Is the speed just a limitation of the design of FTDI/jtag/gdbproxy?

Regards,

Ian Banks

Message: 86614    Update your toolchain from svn trunk.

There are significant speed improvements – you should get download up to 200KBytes/s with a gnICE.

Good to hear

Just in case you need something faster -

The gnICE+ is at least 5x faster than the gnICE -

http://docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=hw:jtag:gnice-plus

Getting you download speed up to 1Mbytes/s and more.

(depending on your host OS and HW)
