Requirements
LTspice 17.1 requires Windows 10, 64-bit or later.
Upgrading from LTspice XVII
LTspice 17.1 does not overwrite files or executables for LTspice XVII, so you can continue to use LTspice XVII alongside LTspice 17.1, though don't open the same file in both versions at the same time.
If you have custom symbols or libraries, you can tell LTspice 17.1 where they are (Tools > Control Panel > Sym. & Lib. Search Paths) or place them in the folders noted below.
Default File Locations
Program Files
The LTspice program (executables) are placed in one of two places, depending on how you choose to install LTspice:
- Only for me. C:\users\[User]\AppData\Local\Programs\ADI\LTspice\
- Everybody. C:\Program Files\ADI\LTspice\
Libraries, Symbols, and Examples
Installed examples and libraries are always stored in the current user's local application data folder:
- C:\users\[User]\AppData\Local\LTspice\
If you install for Everybody, and another user starts LTspice, the default libraries and symbols will be reproduced in that user's local application data folder.
