For proportional solenoid valve

Thread Summary

The user is seeking advice on selecting a motor driver for a proportional solenoid driver design. The current solution uses an analog setup (opamp + MOSFET + current shunt monitor). The MAX22217 was suggested but lacks PWM input, making it difficult to change current every 1ms. The user is considering the MAX22201/2/7 or MAX22205 and needs LTspice models to verify if these can meet the 1-2ms current change requirement. The final answer suggests submitting a Technical Support request for the LTspice models.

Hello

My customer intend to choose motor driver for their new design of proportional solenoid driver.

They will select part within 1-1.5month.

Their current solution is analog ( opamp(PID amp) + MOSFET + currnet shunt monitor .)

Major spec is

: 24V+/-10% / 0.5A max
; Load is 15mH ..............should be large
; customer want set current from 0 to 500mA using PWM duty
: Forward/revese should changed
; current and direction should be changed same time in every 1ms.
; Hope to have dithering
; constant current control (= position)
; 2- proportional solenoid valve ( H bridge x 2)

Question

Q1) I had introduced MAX22217 them , but this product has no PWM input.

It seems to change current in every 1ms may be difficult though higher SPI frequency.

How do you think?

Q2)

I intend to promote MAX22201/2/7 , or MAX22205.

I can have MAX22205 LTspice model , but I hope to have MAX22201/2/7 simulation model

in oreder to check I can change current withinf every 1-2ms or not.

Can I have LTspice model for MAX22201/2/7?

Q3)

MAX22205 LTspice model can be used in place of MAX22201/2/7?

Hope to have your advice

Best Regards
