Hello,
I created an LT spice model of two MAX17526A's. The inputs are connected to two separate 28V voltage sources with outputs in parallel feeding a common load.
In my application the voltage sources do not track and can vary +/- 2% (+/-0.56V).
The part data sheet shows that at an input to output differential of 490 mV "Flag" Vfa is asserted, pulled low. The model demonstrates this behavior.
However, a short time later the differential voltages increase to where the outputs go close to zero volts. It's as if the devices are trying to protect themselves. This happens at any current setting
so it's not a power dissipation issue. According to the data sheet this should not be happening. I also modeled with a similar device the MAX17613C. It has a similar Vfa spec 470 mV nominal.
They keep operating with large differential voltages unlike the MAX17526A. Is the MAX17526A model demonstrating the correct behavior or is it flawed?
See the attached simulation.
Thanks
Tony
