Hello,
This is Kwonjoon Lee from South Korea.
I would like to ask about LTspice simulation result of LT8625S.
(Situation)
1. Vin = ~16V, Vout = ~10V, Load Current = ~1.5A
2. Vin of LT8625S is implemented with the ideal voltage source.
(Ideal bypassing capacitor corresponding to 50uF is connected to the ideal voltage source in parallel)
3. There is a huge (and periodic) current spike (~8A, width = ~250ps) component in the input current which is measured at the ideal voltage source.
4. My switching frequency is about 1.34MHz.
(Question)
1. Should I connect multiple high-frequency bypass capacitors (10pF x m) to the input of LT8625S in a real schematic?
(But, in the datasheet, there is no recommendation)
Best regards,
Kwonjoon Lee

Hello,
This is Kwonjoon Lee from South Korea.
About 2 weeks ago, I have asked about the huge and periodic current spike at the input of LT8625S.
Could you let me know the reason why there is no answer for my question about two weeks ago?
Is there any problem in LT8625S (silent switcher 3 product)?
Best regards,
Kwonjoon Lee
Hi KwonjoonLee ,
I'm afraid the Power Management forum is not really monitored by ADI employees. I'm here from the LTspice forum. I might be able to help with the model question. Please upload your schematic by dragging the file to this window.
Also, I would recommend starting your design in LTpowerCAD, which can help in quickly working with the capacitance values. LTpowerCAD can export your optimized solution to LTspice for further simulation.
