I am using the AD8666 in an audio circuit as a buffer running on 9V. I wanted to simulate the behaviour for a quick sanity check.
The built-in model in LTSpice seems to be flawed, unless I misunderstood the datasheet. Wiring up a simple AC amplifier, biased at 4.5V feeding in a 20mV signal to the non-inverting input only results in saturation where the output is 9V flat.
The input, at non-inverting pin:
The output:
I tried using it as a simple buffer too, but it doesn't work. I did find another post, AD8666 LTSpice transient analysis failure
and the model that DBautista provided seems to work.
Why is the built-in model not working (I have updated it to the latest version), and is the other model a better model to use (i.e. is it more accurate to the real amp)? If so, why is this not replacing the older model?
Thanks!
