The circuit I used was the example LT8333.asc file then simply added current probe to the SW pin on the LT8333 device.

I noticed this for myself as well, I'll try to communicate this to our internal modeling team, but, the reason could have been that the switching current was not modeled properly though, it could have not been that significant. I'll investigate on this further and will get back to you as soon as I get an answer.

These switch edge spikes might be real real at about 300ps in width. Not much energy in there. They do seem "real" in the simulation, not just numerical artifacts. I'll look into if this is modeled correctly. Anyway, the 20A over 100s of ps is pretty low when integrated, so overall operation probably close to real real?

Anyway, I ran a sim with no max time step and saved the state at 3ms. And then loaded the state and ran a tran to 3.0004ms with a 10ps timestep max:

Looks like a real spike, again, at under 400ps is much less than 8µAs I think.
