Saving data of specific point only to speed up the simulation time.

Hello,

Is there a command directive to allow LTspice to compute/save the result of a specific point only instead of every point in the circuit?, this should speed up the simulation time for a complex design.

  • Hi  ,

LTspice do have options for that, depending on what you want to see on your simulation, below are two options that I think might help speed up your complex design simulation:

    1. Time to start Saving Data
      • In this option, you can select which time your simulation would start saving data, though, as far as I understand, it would not skip computing the results prior to the selected time to save data, but it helps in speeding up your simulation. (See Figure 1)

    2. directive .save
      • This directive helps you specify which voltage nodes or device currents you would like to save on the simulation. This significantly speeds up the simulation as it ignores other nodes or currents that was not specified. A more detailed discussion on how to use this directive can be seen on the LTspice help file, just search for .save. I screenshot already what you would expect to see on the help file. (See Figure 2)

    I hope this helps.
