Hi,
I want to manage our company libraries. We have alot of models so it would be better if we could arrange our models and symbols in subfolders so it would be more transparent. I know I can add paths to folders and do it that way, but a more elegant solution would be that I would open a path and have a list of different folders that would show up and then I would just click on a folder and it would show all of symbols and models.
Something similar has LTSpice already built in for it's libraries(see bottom picture), where you have many different subfolders visible, so there must be a way to do that. The path must be on company server.
The problem starts when I write in the path where I have folder located(on company server, see bottom picture), where I have different subfolders for different components.
I already put in the path to this folder on server in control panel under Sym. & Lib. Search Paths.
Issue starts when I press F2(opening component library) and select the path that includes all the folders with symbols and models. I can't see the subfolders(see bottom picture). So I would really appreciate if someone would help me with this problem and if anyone knows what I am missing here.
Best regards
Hi Williem2000,
We understand how important it is for you to solve this and move forward with your projects.
I forwarded your inquiry to our LTspice development team. I hope they can give a helpful response soon.
Please keep on posting inquiries and sharing your ideas here in EngineerZone. Thank you.
It looks like LTspice is not following the directories recursively. You likely need to add each sub-directory as an entry in the search paths
Alternatively, you could make a junction link in the /document/LTspiceXVII/lib/sym directory to link over to your other source. I've been successful with the symbols, but haven't tried it with the sub directory yet...
Thank you for your answer. I have tried with link folders and it works. For anyone having the same problem, here is a video on how to create linked folders: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evIxMHYCass&t=420s.
Best regards
I have the same issue, has there been a resolution to this problem yet please?
This used to work just fine in 17.x, so behaviour has been broken with 24. Is there an ETA on a fix, as I assume this was not intended behaviour?
