Hello,
I am trying simulate ISO16750-2 Pulse 5B for 12V systems with SMDJ22A. If I am not wrong, pulse current should be Ipk = (Vs-Vc) /Ri . When I checked simulation result , Vclamp was around 29,8V and TVS current was around 60A. But I already set Ri as 1 ohm. There is a inconsistency at source impedance. It seems Ri behave like dynamic resistance. Is it normal?
Could you clarify this point?
Dear Beyazit,
Ri is a normal resistor. However, Vs=101V in your case. Hence the 60A.

Mathias
Dear Mathias,
Thanks for your answer.
I applied Pulse-5b. Its Vsclamp voltage should be 35V. I expect to see Vsclamp voltage. You can see pulse details at below image.

Dear Beyazit,
The clamp doesn't engage, because the clamping voltage is not reached. The actual voltage, which supplies Ri, is 101V, as per your table.
Draw yourself the equivalent circuit of the source, that should help your understanding.
Best Regards,
Mathias
