Filter Design

Hi, I would like to ask an information. In the "Filter design tool" when we choose the filter components what does "Q resistors" mean.

Thank you

  • In the filter wizard, if you ask for a bandpass filter that requires high Q stages, you'll likely get this circuit:

The circuit contains two resistors that create positive feedback in the circuit, to create extra peaking, i.e. more Q.

In the components tab, if you select "I want to choose", you have the ability to change the magnitudes of these resistors (but not their ratio), using the Q resistor slider.
