Why is there no shortcut on the desktop of WIN10. When I launch LTspiceXVII.exe it recreates the library files overwriting my custom libraries. How do I launch the app without library creation? Note; this computer has no internet access.
I am running Win 10 in Bootcamp on my Mac Pro. Could that be the reason? I would like to run the MAC version of LTspice, but when I open my previous designs, it cannot find the spice models. I use to run…
LTspiceXVII.exe is the installer. You run that once to install.
I just recently installed LTspice to a Win10 machine. A shortcut was added to the desktop and to the start menu, so I'm not sure why you aren't seeing a link in your start menu.
But, the program executable is located at Program Files/LTC/LTspiceXVII/XVIIx64.exe - at least that's where it's located on my PC. That's the file you should be running to use LTspice once you've installed it. I hope this helps.
I am running Win 10 in Bootcamp on my Mac Pro. Could that be the reason? I would like to run the MAC version of LTspice, but when I open my previous designs, it cannot find the spice models. I use to run LTspice VI on linux using WINE and am trying to transfer all of my files and custom libraries to my Mac Pro desktop computer. How would I do this? I am not a fan of Microsoft and would rather use my Mac machine for engineering.
So from what I can tell - LTspice appears to be working on your Mac, but old schematics aren't opening properly b/c custom spice models/libraries are missing?
Where did you store your custom libraries when you were using your linux environment? Are you able to copy those files over? And at that point, LTspice still doesn't seem to be able to find them?
Regarding Win10 on Bootcamp - I have no idea if that could be the issue. I've been running LTspice on Win10 in Parallels (on an Mac) without any trouble - I'm not familiar with Bootcamp.
I was able to load and run LTpspice XVII on WIN 10 in bootcamp and execute my old drawings. Not sure what changed. I did load both the x86 and x64 versions. Now I have a printing problem. The plot lines do not print. How do I make them thicker so I can see them on a printout? I still have not been able to run my old designs in the MAC version of LTspice.
