LTSPICE MAC standard model replacement

hi All

I installed LTSPICE on a MAC with Mojave and i would like to replace the standard models in the /lib/cmp directory by the improved version from http://ltwiki.org/index.php?title=Components_Library_and_Circuits

unfortunately when i replace the files or even delete them, only the old models content appear in LTPICE (just like if they were built in the binary !!!)

for example i wish to simulate with a BFR193 model, but the default standard.bjt file does not contains such a device.

the replacement of these files works perfectely on a PC but the MAC it seems not to work as expected.

any idea ?

Best regards

  • Hello,

The file is in the path below
    /Users/username/Library/Application Support/LTspice/Lib/cmp/standard.bjt
The same applies to the other model files  standard.xxx.

Don't change the files in the path below.
    /Applications/LTspice.app/Contents/lib/

Are you aware that when you use  models which are not in the common standard.bjt, that other users can't simulate your schematics, becasue they don't have the extra models?

I never change the standard.xxx files. I always copy the extra models into the folder of the schematic and add a .lib filename to the schematic.
